Evanston Fire Restoration

A historical home located in Evanston Ill. experienced a tragic fire that destroyed 90% of the home.  A restoration company spearheaded the project of restoring the home’s structural integrity. Scarlet Begonia Interiors was hired for a complete redesign—to select finishes, color palette, bathroom fixtures, tile, lighting and furniture.

 

Everything in the home was either burned by the fire or unsalvageable because of extreme water damage. I had no references to work from, as all photographs of the home had been destroyed in the fire and the homeowner’s memory was still in shock.  The process began slowly. It was very important that the homeowners developed a trust in my ability to restore what they once had. It was sad to see room after room of charred walls and piles of wet ashes. The remodeling decisions needed to be made quickly. Within the strict timeline, the beautiful massive moldings were restored, windows were replaced, kitchen and bathroom fixtures were selected, as well as wall coverings, flooring, tile work and lighting.  Soft furnishings and window treatments personalized the rooms. “Life” had returned to their home.

 

The Evanston Fire Restoration Project may be my most rewarding project. This family lost all of their material possessions, everything-  Scarlet Begonia Interiors successfully redesigned and restored, the home they once had. The family put their trust in Scarlet Begonia Interiors and with careful attention to detail the restored house became “home” once again.
